NAME

data:jitter - jitter of clock or data signal (Decida Procedure)

USAGE

          data:jitter d signal args

ARGUMENTS

signal signal column in the data object
args OPTIONS

OPTIONS

-time time specify time column in the data object (default is TIME)
-tmin time specify minimum time for signal slice (default is minimum of TIME col)
-tmax time specify maximum time for signal slice (default is maximum of TIME col)
-falling using falling edge for level crossings (default is rising)
-level level specify crossing level. If not specified, signal (max+min)/2 is used.
-freq freq specify frequency rather than calculating from (tmax-tmin)/(ncross-1)
-nbins n specify number of histogram bins (default is 21)
-plot display jitter plot, histogram, signal plot
-report specify report file (default is stdout)
-advplot write advplot files (default is column-oriented files)
-data signal is data, not clock.
-prefix prefix specify prefix for output files (default is jitter)

RESULTS

prints absolute, period, cycle-to-cycle peak-to-peak/rms jitter, frequency, signal stats
plots jitter versus tideal, histogram, and signal vs time
generate column-oriented or advplot format files for jitter and histogram: <prefix>.signal.jit and <prefix>.signal.jhg
returns name/value list of absolute, period, cycle-to-cycle peak-to-peak and RMS jitter ranges

NOTES

Converted from Jim Chlipala's .CALCULATOR program for jitter.
For ADVICE, use sufficiently small time step to minimize numerically-induced jitter.
Use sufficiently large tmin to minimize start-up transients.
